Push-Pull Microplanar Magnetic Driver “Ortho”
“Ortho” is a microplanar magnetic driver developed by MADOO. There are two types of planar drivers, “push-pull drive” and “single drive”, and the “Ortho” uses a push-pull drive system. Due to the high difficulty of incorporation, it is difficult to make it small and lightweight enough to fit in earphones, but with the help of skilled engineers, we have developed a push-pull planar driver that is the size of an earphone and has high quality.

The tuning applied to the Typ622 further brings out the potential of “Ortho”, which specializes in a wide range of expressions, from powerful mid and low frequencies to brilliant and delicate trebles.

High Rigid Housing
The housing material of the Typ622 is made of aluminum, which is both rigid and lightweight. Based on MADOO’s design philosophy that “the rigidity of the housing affects the sound quality,” the housing shell is made thick enough and the surface is treated with Mr./Ms. blasting to increase rigidity and achieve a finish that does not compromise on sound quality. The housing is designed by engineers with intimate metalworking skills and manufactured on a high-precision multi-axis CNC cutting machine.

Sapphire crystal combines aesthetics and function
Based on the concept of “earphones that can be used for many years”, the design is based on the image of a submarine or a clock window. The window is made of sapphire crystal, which boasts a hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale, and achieves heat resistance, corrosion resistance, and excellent durability that ordinary glass and plastic cannot have. The air void created by the window controls the back pressure of the speaker unit and maximizes the driver’s performance. In addition, the gold color design that expresses the “heavy sound” of the Typ622 creates a completely new look while following the octagonal design common to the second-generation MADOO lineup.

Optimized shape derived from 300 ear molds
MADOO will design and develop the main market for Hi-Fi earphones, focusing on the “Asian ears” of Japan, Hong Kong S.A.R., China, Korea, etc. Based on ear mold data from 300 people collected over a period of about three years in the Asian region, we have designed an excellent housing design that achieves both high-quality fit and design. In addition, an elliptical stem was adopted to fit the oval ear holes common to the human body. The natural wearing comfort reduces loss and provides high-purity MADOO yes.

Custom Cables by Acoustune
The included earphone cable is a silver-coated copper 4-core cable under the supervision of its sibling brand “Acoustune”. The silver coat reduces sound quality loss and demonstrates the original performance of the earphones. The connector part uses the “Pentaconn Ear” connector, which boasts high sound quality and high reliability designed and produced by Japan Dix Co., Ltd. Compared to conventional MMCX connectors, the plug and socket are in closer contact, resulting in superior conduction performance, ease of attachment and detachment, and robustness. The product comes with two cables as standard: MRC011 (3.5mm 3-pole L-shaped gold-plated plug) and MRC023 (4.4mm 5-pole L-shaped gold-plated plug).
